This yearly festival supports the White Plains High School Art Scholarships and in 2018 $10,500 was awarded to five White Plains HS Seniors. I’ve been aware of this event for many years and have seen the Festival grow in popularity with always the same quality work. A great variety of fine artists and fine craftspeople take part including: painters, sculptors, jewelers, fabric artists, and fine crafts of glass, wood, skin care, and foods. For several years I have been asked to be one of the judges, a job I like as it allows me to see new artists and craftspeople and to give my opinion, something I am never shy to do.
At this point after publishing an arts journal since 1984 there is little I haven’t seen so I was very pleased to learn about Sally Cruz and The Love of Glass. Sally decoupages a design and then it is adhered to a glass plate or platter.
Many many sandings and applying of a sealer and the plate has a wonderful image in it. Words aren’t doing it justice so here are a few images.
These are some of the other craftspeople and artists I was taken with.

Nicole Kristiana, whimsical paintings in gouache, watercolor, and a variety of ink layered in each artwork.

Dede Lifgren, a fine artist and hand crafter and her sister Lisa Lifgren Drummond created Capuchinz and with fabric and tapestry combinations create hats and jewelry.
